This wooden Nativity ornament is cut in layers and glued together to create the layered effect. Each layer is a little higher than the layer in front of it for 2 reasons. The first reason is so each layer can be easily seen, and the second reason is so the baby Jesus in the manger is the highest layer. The animals are at the edge of the stable farthest away from the manger. The Wisemen are a little closer to the manger, and Mary and Joseph are the closest to the manger. The layer with the Jesus and the manger is maple wood which is a lighter color than the Mahogany wood or the Walnut wood. All this together gives the visual effect of pointing to Jesus in the manger and making Him the central focus point.
I make two variations, mahogany & maple and walnut &maple, so choose your favorite combination.
